Fabricating the Controller Housing
I designed and cut out the top part of the enclosure out of 22 Gauge #304 Stainless Steel,
and the bottom part is fabricated out of 16ga galvanized sheet steel. Both were cut with the CNC plasma cutter
This allowed me to customize the enclosure for the outlets and the display.
![]() Screen Shot of PlasmaCam application, as the prototype moves along, I am able to make
changes to the enclosure design on the fly. As you can probably see, that the cut outs for the USB connectors are in place,
but not on the enclosure in the pictures below.
![]() You can see the USB connector I have hanging out of the back of the enclosure (Photo top right), this is where the DS1721 Digital Thermometer
plugs into temporarily, while I'm doing some testing. To the left of the outlets in the same photo, you can see the circuit breaker I had installed on the unit.
![]() The power switch (Photo top left), is located on the right side of the enclosure.
The enclosure also has 4 LED's (Photo top right) to indicate witch outlet is on.
![]() Here is a closeup of the cut out for the LCD and Buttons.
