Starting a windmill project
Before you go about building your own Windmill generator or purchasing a commercially available one, check the local wind maps for your state or area, and see if it is even worth the trouble putting up a windmill,
either by building it yourself or putting up a commercially available one, it is a good idea to do research on wind currents in your area.

After consulting our local wind maps, I found out that unless I lived along the shore lines of any of the great lakes, it wouldn't do me any good to rely on wind power alone.
It would be best if your area was getting a wind current rating of 4 to 7, 7 being the best, me unfortunately, I live in a 2 area (South West of Lansing), so I wouldn't see too much power coming from the wind. But I still wan't to build one just to say I did, I would just have to make it work with whatever wind power we have.
